Save the Tragedy Stories.

I've had it with the media abusing the word tragedy every time some guy dies. Just because a family of four dies from a fire due to a curling iron left on doesn't automatically count as a tragedy. It's a very sad freak accident. Not a tragedy. Shakespeare and poets write tragedy's. Tragedy is a literary work, in which means the main character comes to ruin as a consequence of a moral weakness. A ten year old boy who finds daddy's gun and ends up accidentally blowing out his own brains also doesn't mean a tragedy has accrued. It's a bad, bad mistake due to ignorance. Also, some man who kills his wife, three children, the mail man, a random guy at a red light, his business associates then pops one in his own head is not a tragedy. It's a massacre, and fun to read about! And every dead, brainwashed U.S. Marine shouldn't automatically qualify to have his own story on the ten O'clock news. Because news means NEW, and a 18 year old American boy who gets killed in Iraq isn't new. It's called a victim of this government. I don't have time for these "tragedy" stories about policemen getting killed, seriously. How is policemen being killed more tragic than a police officer killing an un-armed black kid? We don't see that on the news, do we? No. And if we do, trust me, it's not presented as a tragedy. I'm also tired of some thirty minute CNN special about a baby who has a team of doctors waiting for a heart to be flown in from another country on a private jet contributed by a corporation who is seeking good publicity because they're responsible for killing 200 whales from an oil spill off the coast of Mexico. Or, some dude without a nervous system who just received his black belt in kick-boxing. Or, an old lady in a wheel chair with no arm or legs who helps tighty-up her neighborhood. And a 95 year old paraplegic who finishes an iron-man competition in Finland, then dies from choking on a chicken bone from his airplane dinner on his flight back to America doesn't interest me. The news is fake and meaningless. Also entertaining. The truth is, there are millions upon million of sick people, cripples, drug addicts, dead people, drunks, hungry children, misfits, outlaws, criminals, corrupt politicians and policemen, and there is nothing we can do about it. Once we help someone out, someone else will need help. Once someone cleans up, someone else will relapse. And once someone is born, someone else dies. That's life! Get used to it. Because, fuck sick people and fuck a dead person. Unless I know them, but when the time comes, I'll deal with it in my own terms, thank you very much. I don't need media assistance to deal with what life dishes out. One last thing, the news also puts you under the allusion that everything is gonna be okay when they have those lame inspirational stories about people who beat the odds. Because, I gotta tell ya, in my life, when the shit hits the fan, I don't need the fuckin' news to help me out. Because everything is not gonna to be okay, ok? Just remember, our lives are being sucked away by thousands of ruthless corporations who don't care about you. They don't fucking care about your family, your future and your existence because in the corporate world, were all expendable. Don't forget it!
